Fender Flares

The main purpose for adding fender flares is to block mud, rocks and other road debris from being thrown from the tires and past the wheel well area. This is especially true on vehicles with an aggressive stance where the tire partially sits outside of the wheel well. Some of this thrown debris can be stopped by a mud flap, however, the debris can still be thrown over the mud flap. The second purpose why many people add flares is to cover up unsightly rust.
